System Requirements
The only system requirements to install and use Anuko Auction Sniper are:
- A PC running Windows 2000, XP, 2003, or Vista.
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or later installed on your PC.
- An always-on Internet connection (DSL, Broadband, Cable, etc.).
Take Your Time When Learning Anuko Auction Sniper
Anuko Auction Sniper uses scripting technology to navigate the target auction sites. What this means to you is that you may see several pages changing and/or flickering in the browser portion of the window while preparing to snipe. For example, visiting a login page might be required before you are ready to schedule your bid. It all happens quickly and automatically, but it may look strange the first time you see it in action.
Anuko Auction Sniper is easy to use, but it is important to take your time until you are familiar with how it works. Let it have enough time to navigate to the final page. How long it takes will depend on the speed of your internet connection.
Relax, you no longer have to rush your bids! Don’t worry, you’ll have a bid scheduled before you know it.
Auction Sniper Setup
Installing Anuko Auction Sniper
Just download and run the Anuko Auction Sniper install file. If you are experienced with installing software, then this process will be familiar to you.
When you run the installer, the End User License Agreement will open, which you are to read and agree with.
Next it will ask you to select the destination folder to install Anuko Auction Sniper. The default setting is best for most systems, but you may choose another if you wish. Click Next and the installation will begin. The whole process goes quickly and takes little time.
Note 1: Shortcuts in Start - All Programs will be created automatically during the installation process. They will appear in the folder SnipeMe.
Note 2: Installer may launch Anuko Auction Sniper for you after it's finished installing.
Running Anuko Auction Sniper
Launch Anuko Auction Sniper from your Windows Start Menu (Start - All Programs - SnipeMe - SnipeMe). Initially, a window with the first web auction eBay target will appear. You can configure Anuko Auction Sniper using the Options - Settings menu.
Use Options - Settings menu to configure Auction Sniper.
Configuring Anuko Auction Sniper
Select Options - Settings in Anuko Auction Sniper Menu to configure it the way you like. Here is how Settings window will look.
Anuko Auction Sniper Settings
Here you can select the following parameters:
- Default website - here you may define the online auction site to be opened when Auction Sniper starts.
- Snipe N seconds before end - define when to snipe on items by default. Note that you will have the opportunity to change the bidding time for each target.
- Passwords - decide whether to save passwords locally (on your PC) or avoid saving them. If you decide not to save passwords you will need to enter them every time you snipe. The recommended option is to store them encrypted locally (on your hard drive).
- Clear now button - when pressed, clears all passwords and logins that Anuko Auction Sniper stored previously.
- Auto-start Anuko Auction Sniper on Windows logon - define whether Anuko Auction Sniper will be re-opened on Windows logon. This is useful when you turn off your computer so that Anuko Auction Sniper automatically resumes from the point where you finished previously once Windows loads.
- Open User Guide on startup - decide whether you want Anuko Auction Sniper to open an online user guide page on startup and set it accordingly. User guide is opened in a regular browser window.
- Minimize to system tray - decide whether you want to minimize Anuko Auction Sniper into an icon in the system tray notification area (the area next to the system clock).
Using Anuko Auction Sniper
Using Anuko Auction Sniper couldn’t be easier. Once you find an item to snipe in the Browser window, the Helper Wizard will walk you through a few easy steps to schedule your bid in the top window.
Finding an Item to Snipe
As illustrated in the How Sniper Works section, Anuko Auction Sniper interface consists of two main portions - the Helper Wizard on top, and Browser on bottom. The Helper Wizard will tell you the next step to take.
At first the Helper Wizard will show: "Please browse to the item, which you are going to buy". Notice that the "Next" button under the helper message is disabled, which indicates that Anuko Auction Sniper has not yet recognized the page as an item to snipe at. Use the Browser portion of Anuko Auction Sniper to find the item you wish to bid on.
Auction Sniper Helper Wizard will tell you the next step to take.
Logging In
Once you have found your item, you might need to log in to place a bid if you haven’t already done so.
If Anuko Auction Sniper needs to log in, you will see this window pop up:
Anuko Auction Sniper Log In Pop-up Window
Enter your eBay user name and password in the fields provided. Depending on how you configured Anuko Auction Sniper it can either store your login information in encrypted form on your hard drive or just keep it in memory and forget them when you exit the program. If you set up Anuko Auction Sniper to not store passwords you will see Anuko Auction Sniper Log In Pop-Up Window quite often, every time it needs to log in.
Preparing to Snipe
When Anuko Auction Sniper recognizes a page as an item you can bid on it will automatically take you to the "Place Bid" form on the item page. What does this mean?
- You may see some flickering in the browser window, this is the Browser going through several pages on the auction website. Please see the "Take Your Time When Learning Anuko Auction Sniper" section on this page (above) for more information.
- You will not have enough time to examine the description of the item. Therefore, it will help if you have already examined the item in your normal web browser.
- Anuko Auction Sniper will highlight the bid amount field with a magenta rectangle, as shown in the picture below. This is the box where you should enter your bid amount.
Preparing to snipe with Anuko Auction Sniper
Enter the maximum bid amount you are willing to pay for the item and then press the Next button in the Helper Wizard above. Pressing the Next button at this point will not finalize anything; you will still need to schedule your bid, which is done in the following steps.
Note that Anuko Auction Sniper removed the "Place Bid" button from the Browser on this page so that you don't accidentally place your bid manually.
Clicking on the Next button now will take you to the Review and Confirm Bid form.
Reviewing and Confirming Your Bid
On this page you review your bid and press on the Snipe button in the Wizard section to schedule your bid.
Reviewing your bid before sniping
Scheduling Your Bid and Starting Sniping
After pressing the Snipe button, Anuko Auction Sniper will take you to the last step to you schedule your bid. You do this in the Helper Wizard portion of the program.
- Schedule your bid using the provided calendar and time controls. Anuko Auction Sniper uses your local system time as time reference. If you schedule your bid to fire at 10:00 AM tomorrow it will be tomorrow at 10:00 AM your time (not eBay time).
- Press the Start button to start the timer. Anuko Auction Sniper will wait until the time you scheduled and then it will place your bid on your behalf.
Scheduling your bid and starting sniping
After you press the Start button you are all set. You will see a countdown timer, which will show you how much time is left until Anuko Auction Sniper places your bid.
The important point to remember is that Anuko Auction Sniper can only place bids when it is running. Make sure that you do not close Anuko Auction Sniper or shut down your computer, or it will not be able to place your bid. You can minimize Anuko Auction Sniper window but you will need to keep the program running.
For your convenience, you can configure Anuko Auction Sniper to minimize to your system tray (the area next to your system clock) to get it out of the way. If you are using Windows XP or Vista, it may hide the icon if it’s not clicked on for some time. You can find it again by clicking the small left-arrow icon on the left edge of the tray area, or configuring Windows not to hide this icon.
Stopping Countdown Timer
If you need to stop Anuko Auction Sniper from placing your bid simply stop the countdown timer. When the timer is stopped Anuko Auction Sniper will not bid on the item.
You can press the "Stop Countdown" button to stop the timer.
Sniping at Several Targets
You can snipe at several targets simultaneously very easily. Just create additional targets using the Action - New Target menu.
If you need to remove a target just close it using the small red "X" button in the upper-right corner of the target. Anuko Auction Sniper will no longer track or bid on any targets that you close. Be careful not to close the whole program, see below.
Create new Anuko Auction Sniper targets using the Action menu. Close targets using the small red button with a cross on it.
If you need to navigate between targets use the tabs just below the menus. Each target has its own tab on top if its window. Click on the tab to navigate to the corresponding target. You can only view one target at a time.
Closing Anuko Auction Sniper
You can close Anuko Auction Sniper application as you close any other Windows program - by clicking on the red button labeled with an "X". You will be given a chance to save your scheduled shots if you have any going when you close the program. Later on, when you start Anuko Auction Sniper again, it'll resume sniping on any items that are not yet expired.
Please keep in mind that Anuko Auction Sniper can only operate while it is running.
You can close Anuko Auction Sniper application as you close any other Windows program - by clicking on the red button with a cross on it.
