Anuko World Clock comes with a variety of built in time and date display options, or formatters. You can configure your clocks individually to show the date and time in a way that makes sense to you. The procedure is simple - you open Preferences, select the "Time and date display options" page for your clock, and either select or type in required formatters in "Time" and "Date" fields.

Select Time and date display options to configure formatters
Select "Time and date display options" on the left to configure formatters

Built-in Time Formatters

The following popular time display formatters are available in the "Time" dropdown box. In the list below, each formatter comes with a text explanation and some are provided with picture examples.
  • Default - it means that the time will be displayed according to your system settings whatever they are. For example, if your native system clock displays the time in a certain way then Anuko World Clock will match this pattern.
  • 12 hours - a 12-hour digital clock will be displayed as on the picture above. This is a popular time display format for North America.
  • 24 hours - a 24-hour digital clock will be displayed. This format is also know as military time.

The top 3 time display options (Default, 12 hours, and 24 hours) are good for many world clock users. If you need more fine-tuning, additional time formats are available from the list below. Things are getting a bit cryptic here as we are starting to use time formatters now.
  • HH:mm:ss - this formatter will display a 24-hour digital clock with a leading zero and seconds. For example, on the picture below, the GMT clock is using this format, while Vancouver clock is using 24 hours format described above. The difference is that there are always 2 digits for hour and you also see seconds.

Feel free to explore other built-in time formatters. When you select any time formatter, a picture example in the middle of the "Time and date display options" page displays clock output.

Built-in Date Formatters

You can configure whether your clock displays the date. The default setting is None (no date) but you can change this. Experiment with many built-in date formatters available in the "Date" dropdown box.

Weekday Formatters

Two weekday formatters are provided - they are wd and wD. The first one (wd) counts from 0, while wD counts from 1. Count starts from the first day of week as defined on the Calendar page in your World Clock Preferences.

For example, if your week starts on Sunday, then on Monday wd formatter will be replaced by 1, while wD by 2. In the following example Vancouver clock is configured with date formatter "\nWW w.wD".

Here, \n means a new line for weekday display, WW is displayed as is (no substitution), and w.wD fragment is replaced by current week number, followed by weekday number.
