Trouble setting cron jobs

Postby bphillips » Thu Feb 09, 2017 2:37 am

I'll admit upfront, I'm not great with cron jobs.

I have my notifications set to send me a report. I have the cron schedule in the notification setting set at:
Untitled.jpg
Untitled.jpg (17.9 KiB) Viewed 784 times

I think this means it will send the report at 7:33pm on the 8th of every month, correct?

On my server cron settings I have the following:

# timetracker ping to execute scheduled jobs
MAILTO=""
* * * * * root /usr/bin/php /home/username/public_html/ap/timetracker/cron.php

My Time Tracker installation is at /home/username/public_html/ap/

My server does have the correct time set.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

You have not told us what the problem is. Is the problem that reports never arrive, or arrive at the wrong time, or what?

Correct.

Why calling cron.php every minute when you need reports only monthly? This is not an error, just a resource abuse.

Do you see any errors in server logs?

What happens when you access the cron.php page via browser? Do reports that are due get sent?
