Frustrating Installation VM player

I just bought the VM appliance. I have installed it using VM Player on a windows 7 pc. When it starts, it fails to get an IP address. I have turned off the firewall and still no IP. Not sure how to proceed. There are no instructions at all for installing or configuring the VM appliance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The appliance is pre-configured to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server on the network, which is considered a common pattern.

If no such server is available, you can change it to a static IP, see the section "Changing IP Address to Static" in appliance admin guide at ... _guide.htm
