Tracking Expenses in Time Tracker
In addition to work time
, you can use Time Tracker to track expenses as well. To do it, enable the Expenses
extension on the Team Profile
page. When you enable Expenses
, the Tax
option also appears on the right. It determines whether expense items are taxable on invoices

Once enabled, a separate Expenses
tab appears in Time Tracker, which allows you to track expenses in a way similar to tracking time
Tracking expenses in Time Tracker
Expense tracking works like this:
- Use calendar on the Expenses page to select the date an expense is for.
- Fill in the fields Item and Cost and click Submit. After submit, a new expense item appears in the list of expenses for the day with Day total underneath.
- If you use clients or projects, you can associate expense items with them.
When expenses are entered into Time Tracker, they can be shown on reports, and also included in invoices, just like work time items.
Editing Expense Items
To edit an expense item, click on its Edit
link in the list of expenses for a specific day. The editing procedure is self-explanatory. However, there is one thing to be aware of.

- Invoiced expenses are not editable. These are items already assigned to some invoice. In this case, there will be no Edit link. If you need to edit such items, delete the invoice first.
